He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Grooms and Barbara Grooms (Grosz); his wife Sybil Nordin of Fool's Day; and his siblings, Elmer, Frances, Teresa, Wendell, MaryAnn and Louie.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Grooms of Sioux Falls, Troy Grooms (Nancy) of Sioux Falls and Clint Grooms (Verna) of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Rachael Alwin (Hans) of Sioux Falls and Isaac Grooms (Abby) of Andover; his great grandchildren, Cosette Alwin and Archer Grooms; and his sister Nell Hendrickson (Curt). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Heritage Funeral Home (4800 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57108). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
