She was predeceased by: her parents, John Engel and Thelma Engel (Mitchell); her husband Kenneth Johnson; her parents-in-law, Gil and Stella Johnson; and her brothers-in-law, Jim Odens, Ron Hewett and Jerry Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Jessica Nixon (Chad), Joshua Johnson (Gretchen) and Alexis Mayne (Deven); her grandchildren, Henry Johnson, Kendall Nixon, Mia Nixon, Harper Johnson, Lauren Nixon and Mason Mayne; her sisters, Patricia Odens and Mary Jane Hewett; her siblings' children, Melanie, Jennifer, Tonii, Jolene, Jill, Karla and Jon; her former spouse Chidi; and her sister-in-law Sharon.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Open House. A memorial service was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Heartland Funeral Home (1801 Frontier St, Brandon, SD 57005).
In lieu of flowers, her family is requesting donations be made to your local animal shelter in honor of her.
