He was predeceased by: his cousin Brayden Remington; and his uncles, Johnny and Jimmy. He is survived by: his parents, Christy Bales of Huron and Dave Cleveland of Dell Rapids; his siblings, Trayten Bales, Spencer Bales (Nayeli), Vinny Bales, Charley Bales, Akira and Mason Cleveland; his nieces, Masyn Bales and Ivey Cleveland; his grandparents, Kent, Elaine Bales, Rick, Susan Dufek, John and Kathy Shoultz; and his close friend Nikki Berg. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Welter Funeral Home (267 3rd St SE, Huron, SD 57350). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Faith Alive Community Church (2660 Dakota Ave S, Huron, SD 57350). Josh was on Covid Orders from 2020-2021 with the National Guard.
