She was predeceased by: her fiancé Dennis Altman; her father A. G. Doering; her stepfather Roy Ehlen; and her siblings, Marie Ehlen and Allan Gene Doering.
She is survived by: her mother Danielle Ehlen (Ogdie); her children, Ashlie Nelson, Blake Nelson (Anna) and Casey Dickerson (Chris); her grandchildren, Keegan, Koen Wingate, Bennett, Benson, Addison Nelson, Ari, Maeve and Rae Dickerson; her sister Linda Fountain (Kevin); her nephew Royce Ehlen; her niece Jamie Jones; Shelly Krell. She is also survived by her eight grandbabies.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to build a memorial garden in Laurie's name.
