He is survived by : his former life partner Irene Kitchenmaster; his wife Berniece Jansma (Jansma); his son Matthew Barstad (Shaley Cullen) of Spencer, IA; and his stepchildren, Burdell Jansma (Tylene) of Beaver Creek, MN, Barb Niessink (Greg), Brandon and Beth Rip (Brad) of Sunnyside, WA.
