It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Spencer Roger Thorsland of Brandon, South Dakota, who passed away on January 8, 2024, at the age of 13, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his sister Megan Ruth Thorsland. He is survived by : his parents, Cory Thorsland of Milan, MN and Lori Huml (David) of Brandon, SD; his brothers, Carter, Parker, Sawyer, Ranger Thorsland and Jaiden Huml; and his grandparents, Roger, Lois Koosmann, Mark and Terri Thorsland. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at the First National Bank (101 S Splitrock Blvd, Brandon, SD). Checks can be made to the Spencer Thorsland Memorial Fund.

“I didn't know Spencer personally, but we often prayed for him in our Risen Savior choir. I also offered prayers when I said my daily rosary. I taught some of his classmates in Religios Ed, so I felt like I knew him. My heart is hurting for all of you. No parent should have to bury their child. My brother too died of cancer, and I saw what it did to my parents. I pray that knowing Spencer is now at peace, no more pain, no more fears, only peace and love in the arms of Jesus comforts you.
