It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Swearingen of Bristol, South Dakota, who passed away on April 9, 2026, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Swearingen and Peggy Swearingen (Quinn); and his grandparents, William, Mary Swearingen (Allen), Alvis and Florence Quinn (Bryson).
He is survived by: his wife Michelle Swearingen (Philips); his sons, James Richard, Tony, Nicholas (April), Nathan, Eric (Charlie), Royce (Aly) and Garret (Casey); and his siblings, Mary O'Dell, DJ Swearingen (Carrie) and Alan Swearingen (Tamara). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren.
