He was predeceased by: his parents, Irving "Tony" Gerken and Dorothy Gerken (Colestock); his former wife Lois Gerken; his wife Bonnie Gerken; his sister Thelma Swearingen; and his granddaughter Angela Gerken.
He is survived by: his children, Daryl Gerken of Geddes, SD, Deborah Thompson (Miles) of Forman, ND and Randall Gerken (Candace) of Britton, SD; his stepchildren, Peggy Jones (Doug) of Yankton, SD, Royce Atkinson (Lisa) of Sioux City, IA, Brad Atkinson of Britton, SD and Patty Niesen (Kieth) of Britton, SD; his grandchildren, Dustin Thompson (Tory), Mindy Donovan (Tony), Tanya Hamilton (Kenny), Christina Novak (Doug), Rebecca Gerken (Brad), Shantelle Wade (David), Jessica Gerken (Will), Jennifer Gerken (Darin) and Cameron Gerken (Jacki); and his siblings, Darlys Nehlich (Terry) and Jerry Gerken (Jeanne). He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
