She was predeceased by : her parents, Christian Sorensen and Verna Sorensen (Meyerdirk); and her siblings, Ellen Schoon and Harvey Sorensen. She is survived by : her former life partner Harlow Arneson; her children, Bennett Arneson (Shelly) of Havana, Cheryl Anderson (Doug) of Gwinner, ND, Wanda Dudley (Brad) of West Fargo, ND and Donald Arneson (Chrissy) of Tower City, ND; her grandchildren, Lora Kuchar (Dustin), Zach Boice (Emerae), Chase Lindberg, Dallas (Bryanna Lauen), Molly (Dylan Aune) and Hunter Dudley; her children, Elle, Ike Arneson and Anna Hopkins (Jakob Redford); her great grandchildren, Bentlee Redford, Everley Boice, Hayzle Dudley, Kuchar and Redford; her sisters, Polly Johnson (Wally), Carol Ekberg (Paul) and Marily Haack (Dave); and her sister-in-law Esther Sorensen.
Following the service, Shirley's body will be donated to University of North Dakota for scientific research.
