He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar L. Johnston and Ruth Johnston; his wife Virginia Mead; his daughter Susan; his brothers, Richard and Gordon; his sister-in-law Betty Johnston; his brother Dick; and his sister-in-law Bobbi Mead.
He is survived by: his children, Tamara Whitehead (Jim) and Richard Johnston (Deb); and his grandchildren, Bo and Megan. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, and their children and grandchildren.
