He was predeceased by : his wife Sharon Filholm; his parents, Mads Filholm (George) and Charlotte Filholm; his siblings, Jim Filholm, Dave Filholm, Loretta Quinn, Genevieve Holm and Geraldine Jensen; and his daughter-in-law Nancy Filholm.

He is survived by : his children, Jacquelyn McCord (James) of Brookings, SD, Michael, Anthony Filholm of Brookings, SD, Patrick Filholm (Elizabeth) of Warner-Robins, GA and Talwin Filholm of Denver, CO; his grandchildren, Fabian McCord (Lindsay), Marielle Downes (Sean), Chaz Filholm (Karina), Nick McCord (Amanda), Sarah Maurer (Kyle), Ryan Filholm (Akane), Haley Spencer (Sean), Mariah Filholm, Jacob Filholm, Delilah Filholm (Tomas), Rachel Powell (Hunter), Amy Estes (Andy), Augustus Filholm and George Filholm; and his great grandchildren, Sebastian, Brinley, Griffin, Weston, Gracie, Bradan, William, Reagan, Mason, Branson, Brecken, Sofia, Amelia, Maverick, Mads and Cara. He is also survived by great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 31st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rude's Funeral Home (105 W 8th St S, Brookings, SD 57006). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church (1700 8th St S, Brookings, SD 57006).
