He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Bymers and Gladys Bymers (Schultz); his siblings, Valois Danekas (William), Patricia Fey (Rollie), Iris (Laird Rasmussen), Ramona Kirkeby (Lee), Dean Bymers and Marvin Bymers; his brother-in-law Forrest McCoy; and his son-in-law Craig Crews.
He is survived by: his wife Avalon Mary Henrichsen; his children, Deborah Lengkeek (Venance) of Brookings, Susan Crews of Canon City, CO, Nancy Bymers of Brookings and Douglas Bymers (Debbie) of South Riding, VA.; his grandchildren, Seth, Evan Lengkeek, Amanda Davis, Emily, Mallory and Megan Bymers; his great grandchildren, Chandler Davis, Ryan and Noah Lengkeek; and his sister Karen McCoy.
Memorial donations may be made to the South Dakota State University Foundation (815 Medary Ave, Brookings, SD 57006) to the Excellence Fund for Aviation Education in honor of Duane Bymers.
