The memory of Gerald L. Erickson of Brookings, South Dakota, who passed away on October 10, 2025 at the age of 91, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Erickson and Agnes Erickson (Sweet); his wife Carolyn M. Cunningham of Brookings; his siblings, Melvin, Lloyd Erickson, Arlene Minnick, Zada Lu Dunkel and Virginia Hendrickson; his siblings-in-law, Larry Dexter, Richard Falk, Stanley Rolph, Kurt Minnick, Francis McBride, Jackie Erickson and Marilyn Erickson; and his grandson Joel Schaub.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Schaub (Alvin) of Waseca, Teresa Dawkins (Rodney) of Brookings, S. D and Steven Erickson (Louise) of Lesterville, S. D.; his siblings, Guy Erickson of Pleasant Hill, Donna Dexter of Sioux Falls, S. D, Esther Jensen (Dennis) of Tyler, Rosemary Rolph of Pipestone and Sharon Falk of Rapid City, SD; and his brother-in-law Robert Hendrickson of Box Elder, SD.. He is also survived by four grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Rude's Funeral Home (105 W 8th St S, Brookings, SD 57006). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Any memorials given will be donated to Feeding Brookings or the American Diabetes Association.
