James left this world on August 29, 2025 at the age of 68, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Obel Knutson and Betty Knutson; his wife Carrie Knutson of John's Catholic Church; his sister Laurie Rezac; his son Jereme Knutson; his son-in-law Steve Hanson; and his brother Lenny Knutson.
He is survived by: his children, Jama Hanson of Arlington, SD and Jared Knutson (Kari) of Volga, SD; his sisters, Renae Hoyer (Darrel) of Renner, LeAnn Fenske (Bud) of Volga and Mary Lundin of Volga; his brother-in-law Mike Rezac of Renner; his grandchildren, Devon, Breanna, Zadie, James, Jada and Skylar; and his great grandchild Jax. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
