He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred Prohaska and Nellie Prohaska; his son Joseph Prohaska; and his daughter-in-law Colette Prohaska. He is survived by : his wife Karen; his children, Laura Cook (Morris), Dan Prohaska and John Prohaska (Kim); his grandchildren, Jensi, Stephen (Vee), Andrew (Lydia), Josh (Allison), Joe (Ellie) and Jacob Prohaska; his great grandchildren, Lane and Colter Prohaska; and his sister Lucia Mueller (Harlan).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Brookings First United Methodist Church missions or to any mission project that brings the love of God to support those in need.
