He was predeceased by: his parents, Orlo Bortnem and Helen Bortnem (Hanson); and his in-laws, Albert and Florence Knutson. He is survived by: his daughters, Sara Jan and Andrea June; his wife Deb; his children, Rad Bortnem, Cheryl Hennen, Abbi Murray, Tom Caffrey and Josh Diedrich; his grandchildren, Kaylene Rider, Casey Lynn, Keelin Noel, Helen Catherine, Kiley Anne, Ronin Robert Joseph, Thomas Michael, Danika Hailey, Betty Nora, Connor William, Seth Rickard, Ariella Mary, Giselle Lynae and Mable Blossom Levie; his siblings, Russ, Gail Dybdahl and Rinda (Randy Ribstein); his siblings-in-law, Milton Knutson, Marge Christiansen, Doug, Daniel Christiansen, Ralph Dybdahl and Janis Knutson; and his grandson Brayden Timothy Mulvaney.
