With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Robert Fishback (Brookings, South Dakota), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Robert left this world on December 7, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Fishback Jr. and Margaret Fishback (Nason); his siblings, Horace III, Nason Fishback and Mary Fishback; his siblings-in-law, Peter van Tol, Edna Fishback, Michael and Steven Sebastian; and his niece Helen Fishback.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Fishback (Sebastian); his children, John Thomas Fishback (Amanda Mitchell) and Ann Margaret Fishback Rivlin (Joel); his grandchildren, William, Francesca Fishback, Abby and Toby Rivlin; his brother Van Dusen (Barbara); and his sisters-in-law, Margie Fishback (Nason) and Marlene Sebastian. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (405 7th Ave, Brookings, SD 57006).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bob's memory to the First Presbyterian Church (405 7th Avenue, Brookings), the Brookings Rotary Club (1210 5th Street, Brookings), the Ivy Center (211 4th Street, Brookings) or a local organization of your choice.
