We bid farewell to Phillip Brewton of Bryant, South Dakota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 5, 2025 at the age of 95. Phillip touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Phillip leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Phillip may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his sister Lolita Myers; and his former wife Effie Mae Dyer. He is survived by: his wife Rev. Marjie Bertsch of Bryant, SD; his children, Brian (Judy) of Lake Charles, LA, Tyrelle Cating (Tommy) of Baton Rouge, LA, Tonya Veazey (John) of Prairieville, LA, Lataine Fleming (Mark) of Sulphur, LA and Diahn Landry of West Lake, LA; and his stepchildren, Beth Holdridge of Blair, NE and Jeremy Bertsch (Amber-Lily) of Apple Valley, MN. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel (208 3rd St SW, De Smet, SD 57231). A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Spirit Lake Presbyterian Church.
