He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Darnell and Eva Darnell (Pederson); his wife JoDene; and his grandson Evan Rieck. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie (Chris O'Keefe) of Seattle, Stacy Pickens (Steve) of Olathe, KS and Brandon (Jessica) of Carthage. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (201 S Buell St, Carthage, SD 57323). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
