He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Miller and Gertrude Miller (Olson); his sisters, Dorothy Slubbendieck (Warren), Thelma Plowman (Cliff), Margaret Frantz (Bill), Marilyn Withrow (Orville) and Betty Gardner (Butz); his brother-in-law Bob Klatt; his parents-in-law, Bill and Olga Gantvoort; his brothers, Loren Gantvoort and Orvis (Marlene Gantvoort); and his grandson Dustin Kranz.

He is survived by : his wife Carna Gantvoort of Castlewood; his children, Melody Swenson (Galen) of Castlewood, Robert Jay Miller of Castlewood, Keith Miller (Jeanine Nakakura) of Aiea, HI and Gail Nagelhout of Dell Rapids; his sister Cloe Klatt of Pierre; his grandchildren, Monte Kranz, Taylor Miller, Cole Miller, Maria Nagelhout, Adam Nagelhout and Dakota Miller; and his great grandchild Lennon Miller.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to the American Church Building Fund.
