She was predeceased by : her parents, Arthur Petersen and Dorothy Petersen (Mathews); her son Darwin Johnson; her grandson Jerrod Johnson; and her brothers, Thomas Petersen and Peter Petersen.

She is survived by : her husband Bruce A Johnson; her children, Kevin Johnson (Brenda) of Reliance, SD, Doug Johnson of Chamberlain, SD, Gail Goetsch of Springfield, IL and Cheryl Adams (Donnie) of Hartford, SD; her daughter-in-law Rhonda Johnson of Oacoma; her sister Anna Parker of Smithville, TN; her grandchildren, Shawn Goetsch, Kristen Gregg (Chris Gregg), William Peter Johnson, Robert Charles Johnson, Mitch Adams and Mady Adams; and her siblings-in-law, Charles Johnson of Watertown, SD and Carol Mattheai (Robert) of Salem, SD. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
