He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Sommervold and Joyce Sommervold; his parents-in-law, Roger and Wilma McKellips; and his son Brian Sommervold.
He is survived by: his wife Sherran Sommervold; his children, Brent Sommervold (Cindy), Barry Sommervold (Stacy) and Bonnie Smith (Harold); his grandson Mitchell Kleinhesselink (Brittany); his great grandchild Aspen Kleinhesselink; his grandchild Britney Peterson (Billy); his great grandchildren, Ava, Cameron Peterson and Wyatt Kleinhesselink; his granddaughter Natalie Sommervold; his stepgrandson Jordan Wilson (Callie); his siblings-in-law, Gary (Deb McKellips) and Bev Livingston; and also, Terec, Ezrah Wilson and Steve Sommervold (Carol).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chancellor Reformed Church (500 3rd St, Chancellor, SD 57015). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
