She was predeceased by: her parents, John McWilliam and Leota McWilliam (Wikoff); her husband Myron Fahrenwald; her son Mark; and her brothers, Vance and Marvin.
She is survived by: her children, Marty Fahrenwald (Kathy) of Watertown, Carl Fahrenwald (Nancy) of College Station, TX, Paul Fahrenwald (Sheri) of Frisco, TX, Myrna McBride (Glen) of Choctaw, OK and Ruth Young (Jeff) of Conde. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
During the summer of 1955, Joan attended a "Leadership Training Camp" for United Methodist Church (UMC) Wesley Foundation officers at Lake Poinsett in South Dakota.
