He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Fahrenwald and Dorothy Fahrenwald; his son Mark; and his siblings, Ernie D and Ardis.
He is survived by: his wife Joan McWilliam; and his children, Marty Fahrenwald (Kathy) of Watertown, Carl Fahrenwald (Nancy) of College Station, TX, Paul Fahrenwald (Sheri) of Frisco, TX, Myrna McBride (Glen) of Choctaw, OK and Ruth Young (Jeff) of Conde. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He then went to the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, where he became a member of Phi Beta Kappa fraternity and the Wesley Foundation.
