He was predeceased by : his parents, Isaac Penner and Maria Penner (Ensz); his siblings, Clarence and Irene; and his son-in-law Silvan Fast.

He is survived by : his uncle David Penner; his wife Clarabel Dirks of Iroquois; his children, Philip (Marilyn), Anne (Don Schmidt), Georgia, Jean (Darrell Amoth) and Jonathan (Jennifer); and his sisters-in-law, Betty Penner, Wanetta Parks, Joan Ensz and Gloria Koehn.
