It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vivian A. Kaufman of De Smet, South Dakota, who passed away on January 17, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, John Spader and Catherine Spader (Reichling); her husband Laverne Kaufman of Canova; her son-in-law Terry Sangl; her brothers, Clarence, Vincent and Donald Spader; her parents-in-law, John and Monica Kaufmann; and her siblings-in-law, Don Shire, Gilbert Kaufmann, Mary Spader, Joan Spader, Alice Kaufmann and Darleen Kaufmann.

She is survived by : her children, Debbie Eggert (Harold) of Howard, SD, Sandy Hammrich (Tom) of Brooklyn Center, MN, Ron Kaufman (Kathy) of Oldham, SD, Nancy Sangl of Brownsburg, IN, Connie Korf (Berny) of Watertown, SD, Dale Kaufman (Jennifer) of Hudson, WI and Linda Timmerman (Ken) of Robbinsdale, MN; and her siblings, Donna Mae Neises (Donnie), Donelda Lauer (Leon), Darrel Spader, Darlene Bartscher (Dick), Delphine Shire, Duane Spader (Elaine), Dennis Spader (Elizabeth), Dean Spader (Vikki), Dorenda Anderson (Dave), Doyle Spader (Chris), Dann Spader (Char) and Dallas Spader (Cris). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in De Smet, Good Samaritan Home in De Smet, or Jenkins Living Center (Reflections) in Watertown, SD.

“Debbie, Dean, Darrell & All, I am so sorry I can't make it to Vivian's funeral. She was a lovely lady I feel privileged to have met when she visited Mom several times around 2008 & 2009. As you may know, Laverne was our brother Paul's Godfather and after Laverne passed, Vivian carried on as a God parent, writing much appreciated cards and notes to Paul. I am sure she touched many lives in many ways and will be sorely missed. May your memories of her bring you joy and peace. Francine Dold”
