She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Kettelhut and Agnes Kettelhut (Fenner); her husband Elmer Sorensen; her sister Arlene Schopen; and her brothers-in-law, Cecil Stoner and Ralph Schopen.

She is survived by: her children, Don Sorensen (Julie), Mark Sorensen (Lisa) and Becky Halbur (Doug) of Hadley, MN; her sisters, Betty Stoner (Cecil) and Shirley Rounsevell (Larry); her grandchildren, Melissa Kreun (Ross) of Edgerton, MN, Michelle Little (Brooks) of Sioux Falls, SD, Brad Halbur of Hadley, MN and Chris Halbur (Brookelyn) of Slayton, MN; and her great grandchildren, Karson, Maddyn Kreun, Peyton, Jaxton, Jayde Little, Brinley Halbur, Haddie and Hayes Halbur.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Lutheran Church (827 Main St, Deadwood, SD 57732). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
