With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Schoenfelder of Dimock, South Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 15, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Murtha and Josephine Murtha (Friedrich); her husband Marvin Schoenfelder; her daughter Colette (Kim Charboneau); her granddaughter Chantal Charboneau; and her siblings, Joe, Tom, Bill, MaryAnn, Fran, Ann and Lois.
She is survived by: her children, Robert (Jean) of Dimock, Daniel (Susan) of Dimock, Patrick (Pam) of Brandon, Timothy of Bridgeport, WV, Paul of Hot Springs, John (Linda) of Rapid City and Jessica Glover (Keith); and her siblings, Noreen of Houston, TX, Carol of Pittsburg, PA, John of Dimock and Tim of Bartlesville, OK.. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Prayer Service Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church (146 W 1st St, Dimock, SD 57331). A prayer was held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church (146 W 1st St, Dimock, SD 57331).
