He was predeceased by: his parents, Louie Steiner and Hildegarde Steiner (Opitz); his wife Geraldine Gollnick; his son Mark Steiner; his siblings, Vernon, Kenneth, Myron Steiner, Kitty Thompson and Mary Lee Brock; his in-laws, Erla Steiner, Marion Streier, Bob McCauley, Wayne Johnson and Chuck Thompson; and his stepgrandson Ray Christianson.
He is survived by: his children, Blane Steiner, Doug Steiner (Tammie), Susie Eckrich, Jane Duerre (Kent), Sharon Deutsch (Tim), Bonnie Cleberg (Terry), Daron Steiner (Shari) and Brian Steiner (Kari); his daughter-in-law Kathy Steiner; his grandchildren, Rebecca Lunde (Eric), Steven Steiner (Kassandra), Brian Eckrich, Max Eckrich (Jessica), Breanna Gubbels (Josh), Bethany Henderson (Kirk), Alison Smidt (Josh), Evan Steiner, Avery Cleberg (Emilie) and Aryn Cleberg; his stepgranddaughter Kelsey Gross (Trevor); his siblings, Mildred McCauley of Eveleth, MN, Patty Johnson of Sisseton, SD, Hildie Radtke (Bob) of Ellendale, ND and Jan Johnson (Wayne) of Coon Rapids, MN; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Steiner and Belvia Steiner.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (114 2nd St, Eden, SD 57232). A vigil service will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
