It is with great sadness that we announce the death of MarySusan Jaspers of Eden, South Dakota, who passed away on May 21, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Susan Lams and Victor J. Lams Sr.; her son John Donnan; her great grandchild Joseph Getty; her siblings, Vic Lams, Henry Lams and Sylvia; her brother-in-law Valery Jaspers; her in-laws, Rosa Lee, Melvin Opitz, Germaine and Laverne Rice; and her niece Rita Opitz.
She is survived by: her husband John G. Jaspers of Anne's Church; her children, Louise, Dan Meyer of Wilmot, SD, Mike, Robin Jaspers of Sioux Falls, SD and Laura Lentsch of Farmington, MN; her grandchildren, Alicia, Brad Oliver, Courtney, Shane Wheeler, Shannon, Derrick Getty, Ellie Jaspers, Alex Jaspers, Austin Lentsch (Madeleine), Claire Lentsch (Alex Bertsch), Shane Lentsch and Kate Lentsch; her great grandchildren, Caleb Wheeler, Blake and Johnathon Getty; her sisters, Carol Lams and Dorothy Loverde (Richard); and her sisters-in-law, Kay Goehner (Ken), Barbara Lams and Andrea Lams Edwards (Jerry). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to any organization that reminds you of Sue's life contributions and passions, such as the St. Michael Cemetery Perpetual Fund, the John D. Jaspers Memorial Scholarship in Agriculture at SDSU or any cause that speaks to you in remembrance of her.
