She is survived by: her children, Valery "Val" Jaspers Jr. (Jane), Suzanne Skinner (Loren), Denise Erickson (Robert), Helaine Fonder (Richard), Judith Briggs (Jeffrey) and Aleta Lindell (Mark); her grandchildren, Tiffany Jaspers (Johann Bayer), Rebecca Anderson (Greg), Steven Skinner (Haley), Terese Grayson (Chris), Preston Skinner, Joseph Erickson, Hannah Erickson, Rita Fonder, Samuel Fonder (Mikayla), Abraham Fonder (Angela), Clarissa Johnson (Dylan), Michaelann Fonder, Dominic Fonder, Meredith Briggs, Natalie Briggs, Elizabeth Lindell and Caroline Lindell; her great grandchildren, Margaret, Kate, Hazel, Blair, Molly, Christopher, Sapphira, Emory, Stone, Jerrica, Levi, Dallas, Adaline, Sienna, Hailen and Aiden; her husband Valery Jaspers; her brothers, Victor and Henry Lams; her in-laws, Mathias and Loretta Jaspers; her nephew John D. Jaspers; her niece Rita Opitz; her sister Mary Susan; her brother-in-law John Jaspers; her sisters, Carol Lams and Dorothy Loverde (Richard); her sisters-in-law, Barbara Lams (late Victor), Andrea and Kathryn Goehner (Ken); and also, RosaLee, Melvin Opitz, Germaine and Laverne Rice.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A prayer was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (114 2nd St, Eden, SD 57232). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Sylvia's family requests donations be directed toward the St. Michael's Cemetery Fund.
