He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell C. Holmes and Grace Holmes (Wade); his son Timothy Coe Holmes; his grandson Micaiah Mahnke; his siblings, Jean Hindgardner (Oris), Margaret Lyon (Howard), Clarice Umdenstock (Dean) and Bill Holmes (Carol); and his brothers-in-law, Richard Gillette and Jack Babcock.
He is survived by: his wife Marjory Holmes of Dewey, SD; his sister Ardis Babcock of Davenport, IA; his children, Jonathan Holmes (Helen) of Herrick, SD, Andrew Holmes of Lead, SD, Phillip Holmes (Kimberly) of Newcastle, WY and Kittie Mahnke of Redmond; and his close friends, Ashley Konon (Adam) of Butler, TN and Carol Keech (George) of LacDueFlambeau, WI.. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, many great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Edgemont Baptist Church.
