He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Magstadt and Ethel Magstadt; his sister Lois Jerke; his parents-in-law, Glen and Joy Baker; and his sister-in-law Bev Baker.

He is survived by: his sons, Damon Magstadt (Sara) of Elk Point, SD and Carson Magstadt of Jefferson, SD.; his wife Kathy Magstadt of Elk Point, SD.; his grandson Carter Magstadt of Elk Point, SD.; his brother Rick Magstadt (Sharon) of St. Paul, MN.; and his siblings-in-law, Karen Dreke (Steve), Kaye Shanbeck of State Center, IA. and Harlen Jerke (Linda) of Great Bend, KS..

In honor of that, memorials will be donated to the Elk Point Pink Ladies in an effort to help them continue their mission.
