He is survived by: his wife Amy Paulsen of Elk Point, SD; his children, Kelsie Carter (Travis) of Valley City, ND, Brittany Morriss (Chris) of Baton Rouge, LA and Hunter Paulsen (Abby Frommelt) of Manhattan, KS; his grandchildren, Henry Carter, Clayton Morriss and Brynnley Morris; his mother Rosemarie "Sis" Paulsen of Emerson, NE; his friend Mark McTaggert of Lincoln, NE; his siblings, Bert Sorensen (Scott), Denise Roeber (Lee) of Emerson, NE, Sara Paulsen (Abbie Reed) of Omaha, NE, Carla Bokemper (Russ) of Vermillion, SD, Robert Paulsen of Springfield, SD, Tom Paulsen (Toni) of Auroa, CO, Glen Paulsen (Marie) of Emerson, NE, Ray Paulsen (Laurie) of Crete, NE and Steve Paulsen of Pender, NE; his parents-in-law, Mike and Jan Swanson of Sioux City, IA; his siblings-in-law, Kirk Swanson (Michelle) of Sioux City, IA, Chris Swanson (Larissa) of Dakota Dunes, SD, Nikki Nieman (Mike) of Sioux City, IA and Becky Steeg (Corey) of Sioux City, IA; and also, Penelope McTaggert and Declan McTaggert. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the The Pointe Golf & Event Center (100 Truman Ln, Elk Point, SD 57025).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
