He was predeceased by: his parents, Darrell Riggs and Virginia Riggs (Tobin); his grandsons, Sutton Dean Riggs and Trenton Tuttle; and his brothers-in-law, Roger Shay and Charlie Rumbolz.

He is survived by: his wife LaRonna Miller of Sioux Falls; his children, Jeremy Riggs of Alexandria, Jason Riggs (Arin) of Ethan, Billie Tuttle (Paul) of Alexandria and Rachael Riggs of Harrisburg; his grandchildren, Isabelle Riggs (Jay Smith), Emma Riggs, Stetson Riggs, Tyalee Myers (Camden), Ethan Riggs (Anna), Jaysten Riggs (Kassidy), Weston Riggs, Felicity Gill (Tom), Brock Tuttle, Cash Tuttle and Jezaleyn Dravland; his great grandchildren, Hadlee, Hazel, Raycen, Arayiah, Emsley, Rocker, Stratton, Colter, Radd and Khaleesi; his stepchildren, Jeana Underberg and Jonathan Underberg (Mary); and his siblings, Bonnie Storm (Richard) of Iowa, Gene Riggs (Linda) of Ethan, Connie Hillberg (Owen "Woody") of Colorado, Bob Riggs (Bobbi) of Colorado, Bev Rumbolz of Mitchell, Vickie Hohn (Dave) of Ethan, Glenn Riggs (Barb) of Wyoming, Donna Shay of Mitchell, Roger Riggs (Lisa) of Ethan, Ronnie Riggs (Shelly) of Mitchell and Kevin Riggs (Becky) of Mitchell. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Ethan United Methodist Church (206 E Ash St, Ethan, SD 57334).
