With sadness, we share the passing of Arvilda Schaeffer of Eureka, South Dakota. Arvilda, born on August 2, 1929, passed away on November 3, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alma Aman (Kirschenman) and Reinhold Aman; her husband Harold Schaeffer (Whitey); her siblings, Orville Aman, Ilo Aman, Phillip Aman and Darlene Kapkowski Judith McCurdy; her son-in-law Michael Raile; her great grandchild Avery Jo Brockel; and her great great grandchild Sophia Ranae Brockel.
She is survived by: her children, Margaret Raile of Eureka and James Schaeffer (Penny) of Clitherall, MN; her grandchildren, Wendy Brockel (Ron), Scott Raile (Stephanie) and Liza Mettler (Mike); her great grandchildren, Brady Brockel (Ali), Josh Raile (Regan), Samantha Wipf (Tyler), Maycee Mettler, Ella Brockel, Sadie Mettler, Nicolas Wang, Lucy Wang, Stella Laws, Andrew Laws, Lennox Laws, Brinley Laws and Michael Laws; her great great grandchildren, Laikyn Raile, River Raile and Jett Brockel; her brother Curtis Aman (Melvine); her siblings-in-law, LaVonne Aman, Sharon Aman, Polly Aman and Anthony Kapkowski; her granddaughters, Nicole and Jayme; and her granddaughter-in-law Stephanie.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ (818 10th St, Eureka, SD 57437). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
