Claudia B. Merthan Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Claudia B. Merthan of Eureka, South Dakota, who passed away on September 6, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Boettcher II and Anna Lou Pigott Boettcher (Pigott). She is survived by: her husband Leroy Hoffman; her sons, Edward Thurn Hoffman and Charles Hoffman (Dawn); her grandchildren, Austin Hoffman, Alex Hoffman Bisson (John) and Elizabeth Hoffman Nicholas (Rob); her stepgranddaughter Greta Seacat; her great grandchildren, Cohen, Theo Hoffman, Jackson, Avery Bisson, Jane, Oliver, Nora and Thomas Nicholas; her nieces and nephews, Janet Fauth Bitz, Kathy Fauth Parisse, Sandy Fauth, Ann Fauth Keeley, Wade Fauth, Charlie Ohrel, Bernadette Ohrel Markoff, Kathy Ohrel Sjogren and Terry Ohrel Perry; her friend Margie Walker; her stepmother Mae Boettcher; her sister Ann Lou Boettcher Ohrel; her daughter-in-law Sandra Seacat; Holly Hoffman.
