He is survived by: his wife Merrill Musson of Paul's Episcopal Church; his son David Ackerman (Staci) of Eureka; his siblings, James Ackerman (Alice), Glorine Faye Fauth (Fargo) and Linda Lee Ackerman of Eureka; his grandchild Brenna (Logan); his great grandchildren, Arlo Ackerman, Landon and Carson Mielke; his grandson Logan Ackerman of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandson-in-law Logan Mielke of Mina, SD; his nephew Rick Ackerman of Victoria, MN; and his friends, Clyde Ottenbacher, Mark Opp and Richard Vetch of Eureka.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lien-Straub-Carlsen Chapel (702 8th St, Eureka, SD 57437). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Zion American Lutheran Church (909 G Ave, Eureka, SD 57437).
