He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin C. Mattoon and Mildred Mattoon (Vickers); his stepfather Ray Landrum; his sister Judy K. Perry; and his father-in-law Jeff Phelps.
He is survived by: his wife Angela Jean Phelps; his son Scott Mattoon (Michelle); his grandchildren, Daniel, Kaelynn and Haley; his sister Debbie Flanagan (Patrick); his mother-in-law Donna Phelps; and his sister-in-law Darci Phelps. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews & cousins.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Fairburn Community Church (165 Linn St, Fairburn, SD 57738).
