He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Holien and Ida Holien (Holter); his wife Lois Hove; and his daughter Karen. He is survived by: his children, Sharon Johnson (Daryn) of Trent and Brian Holien (Jami Alberts) of Jasper. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kahler-Brende Funeral Home (107 W 4th St, Dell Rapids, SD 57022). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Messiah Lutheran Church (48458 240th St, Flandreau, SD 57028). A burial will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Bethania Cemetery (241st St, Flandreau, SD 57028).
