With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Cecilia Rose Rice of Flandreau, South Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 12, 2025 at the age of 94. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Sauer and Agnes Sauer (Aurit); her children, Betty Ann, Dennis and Patty; and her brothers, Lawrence, Johnny, Edward and Anthony Sauer.
She is survived by: her husband Leo Rice; her children, Paul Rice (Carol) of Fort Dodge, IA, Dale Rice (Delores) of Parkston, SD, Teresa Nelson (Stephan Brady) of Flandreau, SD, Wayne Rice of Bullhead City, AZ and Mae Mohror (Curt) of Flandreau, SD; and her siblings, Mary Ellen Giles (Don) of Larchwood, IA and Clarence Sauer of Midland, TX. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
