He was predeceased by: his grandparents, George A. Hales and Grace (Gracie); his parents, Homer G. Hales and Ardyce Hales (Kohler); his wife Dolly Hales (Bohm); his sister Nancy Peatross (Hales); his nephew Doug Peatross; and his siblings-in-law, Lisa Marga Cummings (Boehm), Herma Alma Bachmann (Boehm), Ken Peatross, Friedrich Bachmann and Louis Cummings.
He is survived by: his sons, Homer G. Hales (Harlan) and Paul; his daughter-in-law Shelly Hales (Hill); his grandson Branden Hales (Loren (Embry)); his great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Hudson; his nephew John Peatrosss (Nicole (Koenig)); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jayda and Selena.
