She was predeceased by : her parents, Marie Burns (Smith) and Joseph Burns; her husband John "Pete" Powers; and her brothers, William, Charles, James and Richard.

She is survived by : her sons, Patrick and Paul (Jill); her grandchildren, Amy, Shaun and Kelli Brune (Chris); her great grandchildren, J. P., Amara, Ella, Rylee, Rowyn and Sawyer; her brother Robert Burns (Donna); and her sisters-in-law, Sheila Burns, Rita Burns and Marilyn Powers.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Skroch Funeral Chapel (409 E 2nd Ave, Flandreau, SD 57028). A prayer was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Simon and Jude Catholic Church (105 S Bates St, Flandreau, SD 57028).
