It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James William Dark in Fort Meade, South Dakota, who passed away on February 4, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Dark and Wilma Dark (Wallis); and his sister Mary Ellen Murray. He is survived by: his wife Donna Dark; his daughters, Darby Smiley (Jason) of Rapid City, SD and Jayme Buresh (Brock) of Maryville, TN; his grandchildren, Jacob, Olyvia Smiley of Rapid City, SD and Brynn Buresh of Maryville, TN; and his sisters, Rosalee Craig (Bob) of Olney, TX and Carol Ayres (Leonard) of Leavenworth, KS. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
