It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Evelyn R. Murphy of Fort Pierre, South Dakota, who passed away on October 10, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph F. Tupa and Eve M. Tupa (Wagendorf); her spouse Hylan Murphy; her son-in-law Donald Hageman; and her siblings, Leo Tupa, Ann Kubousek, Francis Kowalski, Magdalen Gustafson, Irene Wiesnaut and Adaline Vinyard.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Murphy of Lincoln, NE and Carol Hageman of Fort Pierre, SD; her granddaughter Jodi Bechard (John); her great grandchildren, Kaylee and Brecken; and her brother Wilfred Tupa.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church (206 Main Ave, Fort Pierre, SD 57532). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are requested to the Alzheimer's Association.
