As William departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though William may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy William leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl T. Fischer and Florence M. Fischer (Van Camp) of Fort Pierre. He is survived by: his children, Marit Fischer (Bill Hartlieb) of Spokane, WA and Ryan Fischer (Heather) of Pierre, SD; and his brother Karl T. Fischer (Eileen) of Fort Pierre. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
He served on the boards of Wakpa Sica Historical Society, St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, St. John's Parish, Grand Opera House, and Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation.
