He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Townsend and Betty Townsend (Wells); his wife Brenda Christensen; and his sister Wendy Wieman. He is survived by: his children, Todd (Brenda), Melissa Wager (Joe) of Sioux Falls, SD, Ryan Townsend (Amy) of Madison, SD and Laura Townsend (Bobby) of Freeman, SD; his grandchildren, Andrew Townsend, Aaron Townsend (Peyton), Ava Townsend, Brantley and Braxton Pickett; his stepgrandchildren, Tim Tigert (Trish), Tessa, Trevor Tigert, Jake McInerney (Kaitlin), John McInerney (Kate), Zowie Monday and Dameon Pickett; his great grandchildren, Beckett, Bosten Townsend, James Tigert and Charlie McInerney; and his siblings, Diana Westphal, Jackie Mohr (Irvin), Jim Townsend and Kerry Townsend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed at a later date.
