With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Karen Sue Johnson of Groton, South Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 14, 2025 at the age of 71. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lola Mae Redlinger (Burt) and John Marvin Redlinger; and her brother William Edward'Ed'Redlinger. She is survived by: her husband Clayton Johnson; her daughters, Kari Johnson, Tara Fjelstad (Clint), Tami Johnson and Mari Sundberg (Aaron); her grandchildren, Kyle Kohrs, Kaitlin Kohrs, Kelli Kohrs, Kimberly Chandler (Jesse), Nathan Fjelstad (Jessea), Jenifer Fjelstad, Trystian Johnson-Sanders (Nikki), Veronica Johnson, Gabriella Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Rebekah Sundberg, Caralyn Sundberg and Scarlett Sundberg; her great grandchildren, Ronnie Gruenstein, Clayton Kohrs and Eliana Fjelstad; and her siblings, Gloria Bertsch, John Paul Redlinger (Bonnie), Chuck Jason Redlinger and Orval Redlinger (Elizabeth).
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home (1111 S Main St, Aberdeen, SD 57401). A prayer was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St Paul's Lutheran Church (214 7th Ave SW, Aberdeen, SD 57401).
