He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Schulte and Genevieve Schulte (Schneider); and his brothers-in-law, Robert Determan and Jim Hanneman. He is survived by: his wife Karen; his daughters, Kim Upton (Dean Ideker) of Sturgis, SD and Keely Espinoza of Hartford, SD; his grandchildren, Xander Espinoza of Humboldt, SD, Zachary Espinoza of Harrisburg, SD and Sedona Espinoza of Hartford, SD; his daughter Irish; his sister Eleanore Hanneman of Mankato, MN; his sister-in-law Cecilia Determan of Emery, SD; and his pet Andy. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Miller Hartford Chapel (600 S Western Ave, Hartford, SD 57033). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St George Catholic Parish (408 S Western Ave, Hartford, SD 57033).
