It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LaVerna Jacobsma of Hartford, South Dakota, who passed away on February 18, 2026, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Mager and Caroline Mager (Townsend); her former husband George Gerry; and her brother Scott Mager. She is survived by: her husband Bob Jacobsma; her daughter Tonya Gerry of Sioux Falls, SD; her stepchildren, Alisa Satterlee (Dave), Paul Jacobsma (Tyann) of Brookings, OR, Laura Opdahl (Darin) of Eugene, OR and Heather Featherstone (Aaron) of Johnson City, TN; her siblings, Ellie Lund (Delton), Brenda (Marty), Collins of Madison, SD, Christine Wevik (Doug) and Wes (Gaye) Mager; and her sister-in-law Chris Mager of Sioux Falls, SD.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hartford/Humboldt Right to Life in honor of LaVerna Jacobsma (PO Box 151 Humboldt, SD. 57035).
